OPA are looking to appoint an EHS Advisor on a permanent basis, to be based onsite at our OFD (Oil Fuel Depot), to act as the SME to our Depot and Project Managers.

Ensuring OPA’s sites operate safely, sustainably, and in strict alignment with UK regulations. This newly created role will support the sites activities, as well as audit the site and its systems, as we continue to improve and maintain our organisations COMAH compliance.

The successful postholder will provide EHS support overing occupational health, safety, environmental and risk management, through the application of risk management tools, provision of HSSE advice, incident investigation, auditing of contractor activity, and support the implementation of the organisations’ SMS (Safety Management System).

The OPA operates within the Major Accident Hazard industry and is engaged in the delivery and oversight of safety critical activities.  This role will require the post holder to build strong positive and creditable working relationships with all stakeholders both internal and external. The ability to liaise with people of differing levels ranging from the Competent Authority (HSE/EA/SEPA), OPA Management and Leadership Teams to site operatives is essential.

Able to communicate and champion a vital element of the Agency’s culture. As some occasional travel other sites may be required, candidates will need a full (preferably clean) driving licence.
