A new and exciting opportunity has arisen at OPA as we seek to appoint an additional Quantity Surveyor to join our Business Services Team to support the delivery of our TTFP (Thanckes Tank Farm Project) and potentially other major projects. This role is to be based predominantly at Thanckes Oil Fuel Depot, with a hybrid working model available (with increasing on-site time during construction phacse from Q3 2025).

Therefore, a full (preferably) clean driving licence is essential forAs part of the Business Services Team supporting the business you will ensure compliance in all commercial processes, and the subsequent works undertaken are completed in full (both in time, specification, and costs) and provide value for money.

The role will require the post holder to build strong positive and credible working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, particularly the Asset Technical, Operations and Major Projects Teams. The person will need excellent influencing skills, be able to communicate at all levels and be comfortable positively challenging when there are issues evident on project delivery.

Some travel with overnight stays to other sites may be required, therefore a full (preferably clean) driving licence is essential for this role. There may also be a requirement for occasional overseas visits.

Due to operations over the assets being managed covering sites across, England, Scotland, and overseas, it necessitates a moderate amount of travel and need to spend nights away from home in order to carry out the duties required. Therefore, candidates will need to have a full (preferably clean) driving licence.Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager you will provide tactical support to the business to ensure satisfactory performance of the OPA’s IT Infrastructure, resolving user’s issues, delivering improvements to the system, and contributing to the review of current systems and new technology/software as the business maintains and improves the IT infrastructure, to ensure it is fit for purpose and robust from cyber threats. 

The role will require the user to utilise their IT skills across a multi-sited organisation, dealing with up to 180 users at all levels within the organisation, from those with little IT knowledge in our Operations team, to Members of the Board. There is a requirement to develop strong relationships with all stakeholders within the Company, and maintain exceptionally high standards of probity and confidentiality.
